Wilken Music Company, Inc. was formed in late 1973, after its founders, Carl and Barbara Wilken,
decided to share their love of music. Starting from their garage in Sedalia, MO, Carl first began teaching
guitar lessons and selling accessories. Soon business grew. In 1973 Carl and Barbara opened a brick
and mortar store and began selling a full line of musical instruments.
Wilken Music Company is a true family affair. The Wilken children began helping in the family business
as soon as they were big enough to see over the counter. Today, Carl and Barbara's oldest son, Allen,
manages the business. It is not uncommon to find one of Carl's grandsons hard at work in the store.
The Wilkens pride themselves on their down-to-earth, family-oriented approach to customer service.
Wilken Music carries a full line of band instruments, orchestra instruments, pianos, organs, guitars,
amps, and accessories. Wilken Music also offers many services such as instrument repair, installation,
